Description
Carlos Estrada-Vega
Color and the number of pieces produced for each composition are the most important part of my work. The arrangement area is predetermined by calculations based on Euclidean geometry and space. I don’t try to escape the square; I extend and multiply it, much like Plato did in his geometric explanations in the Meno. In some cases, I break the composition into four different sized components to further increase the number of pieces needed to produce a predetermined area without losing the perception of it as a painted composition. The physical presence of my composition is puzzle-like.
My work is an ode to labor, commitment and dedication.
