This is a mixed-media photo encaustic art piece from the series- WINGS. An interactive art exhibit that helped to build awareness for the volunteers along the US-Mexico Border who bring compassion and supplies. Wings are a symbol of freedom and justice. By using a Smart Phone, participants stand in front of the butterfly and get their photo. This painting is on a birch wood panel that is 2 inches deep. The monarch butterfly has recently been listed on the endangered species list.
