Experience the Sangre de Cristo Mountains through a lens of vibrant color and rhythmic energy. This original piece, created in my Santa Fe adobe studio, captures a whimsical hot air balloon drifting over an autumnal valley.

Rendered in my signature “MINI” style (Vibrant Lyrical Abstract Expressionism), this painting is defined by heavy, sculptural impasto. I’ve used a palette knife to build up thick, buttered ridges of oil pastel, creating a physical relief that catches the unique New Mexico light as you move past the piece. The warm “Cloud Dancer” highlights throughout the sky and foliage bring a luminous, sun-drenched quality to the mountain peaks.

This is a tactile, three-dimensional work that celebrates the spirit of the Southwest with a modern, expressive twist.
