Roy was born in the St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands to a single mother that soon moved him to be raised by a community of Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles. He did not have a stable home environment but he did have the beautiful Caribbean that served as his inspiration. He spent hours sitting on his favorite rock, drawing with crayons and pencils on paper bags or other paper he could find. As a teenager he moved to New York where he spent time with his mother. Here he was exposed to a whole new art world and began attending galleries and shows that expanded his interest and introduced him to a new world that seemed out of reach but still alluring.
He worked numerous jobs in the hospitality industry and later expanded into the Human Resources field. He was making a living but still kept up his drawings, earning interest from his colleagues and encouragement to continue his hobby.
In 2017 his significant other brought him to Santa Fe and he found his home, literally and artistically. He and Amanda moved here in 2018 and lived in the hills off of Tano Road for a couple of years. He is mesmerized by the landscape, mountains, skies and the special culture that is Santa Fe. He has dedicated the ensuing years to his drawing and unique style.
