Anne was raised in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico; the heart of the southwest. She lives on a working farm, loves animals and raises registered pygmy goats. She became interested in leatherwork after taking her son to a 4-H leathercraft class. She is particularly enchanted with an older style of leather carving called Sheridan Style. Sheridan Style leather carving was developed 70 or so years ago by a gentleman named Don King of Sheridan, Wyoming. Carved in tight, circular patterns, the leaves and stems flow one into the other in a seemingly endless, yet orderly, fashion. Skilled antiquing highlights the elaborate leatherwork, creating warmth and character. Sheridan Style designs are loosely defined, but readily identifiable. Anne also loves the bold, tribal design and colors of Pendleton wool and creates lovely handbags from it. She also uses it in conjunction with her leatherwork to enhance her designs. She loves to create functional art and believes that the simple, everyday items people use should provide them with beauty as well as function.
