Hawaiian Golden Light is an original textured landscape inspired by the tranquil waters and layered volcanic hills of the islands.
Painted in my signature combed impasto style, the work features a golden-yellow sky with a bold orange sun and birds in flight over undulating mountains rendered in warm ochres, deep blues, burnt reds and vibrant greens. A lone sailboat with an orange sail drifts across the turquoise lake below, capturing a moment of peaceful solitude.
Each color block is separated by strong black contours and filled with long, parallel, wavy brushstrokes that flow with the form of the land and sky — creating a sculpted, almost embroidered surface that catches light from every angle. No spirals or circular swirls, only the linear, wood-grain-like texture that defines my recent work.
This painting evokes nostalgia, warmth, and the spirit of aloha — a celebration of nature’s rhythm and the simple joy of a day on the water.
