Description

This labradorite crescent moon necklace pairs one of the most optically remarkable stones on earth with one of the oldest symbols in human adornment. A 9x6mm labradorite pear cabochon sits within a handcrafted copper crescent moon, and when the light catches it right, the stone shifts, blue to green to gold, that internal flash that labradorite is known for and that no photograph quite captures. The crescent has carried meaning across cultures for thousands of years, cycles, intuition, the space between. This is a piece for the person who is drawn to stones that hold a secret, and jewelry that feels like it belongs to a particular moment in time.

Labradorite is associated with intuition, transformation, and inner clarity. Third eye and crown chakra. Wear it when you need to trust what you already know.

Why Labradorite

Labradorite is a feldspar mineral found primarily in igneous rocks, named for the Labrador Peninsula in Canada where it was first described. Its signature optical phenomenon, labradorescence, is caused by light scattering between thin layers within the stone, producing flashes of blue, green, gold, and sometimes violet that shift with the angle of light. Each stone’s flash pattern is entirely unique. Long associated with intuition and transformation. Third eye and crown chakra. No mystical claims. Just a genuinely extraordinary stone with a meaning that fits real life.

Labradorite Crescent Moon Necklace: Materials & Specifications

  • Stone: Labradorite pear cabochon, 9x6mm. Natural labradorescence, color flash varies with each stone and angle of light.
  • Setting: Handcrafted copper crescent moon, approximately 25mm (1 inch).
  • Metal: Copper. Antique finish with living patina.
  • Chain: Copper chain, choose 16, 18, or 20 inch at checkout.
  • Origin: Handcrafted in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Chain Length

16 inch: sits at the collarbone, ideal for layering. 18 inch: classic versatile length. 20 inch: slightly longer drop for everyday wear.

How This Handmade Gemstone Necklace Is Made

Each labradorite crescent moon necklace is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every labradorite cabochon for its flash and set it within a copper crescent moon formed and finished by hand. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every piece is one of a kind.

A Note on Stone Variation

Labradorescence varies naturally between stones. The color and intensity of the flash depends on the individual stone and the angle of light. What you see in photos is representative but your stone will have its own unique flash pattern.

Care

Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions. Store dry. Labradorite has a delicate cleavage, handle with care and avoid impacts against hard surfaces. Polish copper with a soft cloth to maintain shine or let the patina deepen naturally over time.

Gift Packaging

Every order arrives gift-ready with natural materials and a handwritten note card. Add your message in the order notes.

  • Processing: ~1 week, made to order.
  • Shipping: USPS First Class with tracking.
  • Returns: Accepted within 30 days, unworn, in original packaging. Buyer pays return shipping.

Shipping Policy

SHIPPING POLICY

Pieces at Blackbird & Sage Studio are handcrafted in Santa Fe, some are made to order. Below are some of the current processing times before the piece is ready to ship.
  • Ready Made items ship out in 1 - 3 business days - these include most necklaces, beaded bracelets, ready made and ready to ship rings, & key chains.
  • Made to Order items ship in about a week - these are most rings, & some earrings & necklaces.
  • Bracelets and detailed pieces are more labor intensive and require a longer production time - they generally ship out in 7 - 14 days but check the listing for specific processing and shipping dates.
  • Processing times are generally listed in each item description.
All orders will be shipped with an accompanying tracking number.   DOMESTIC (US) ORDERS
  • Free Shipping - Orders over $75 are sent USPS First Class Ground Advantage at no charge.
  • Shipping - Orders under $75 are charged by weight. Methods and rates vary and chosen by the customer at checkout.
  • Upgraded Shipping - Available at checkout. Rates are automatically calculated by the shipping carrier so you are never overcharged for shipping.
ORDERS & ADDRESSES All orders are shipped to the address that you provide. Please verify your address carefully during checkout. For those instances where a purchase has been made but the shipping address is incorrect, please send a message to hello@blackbirdsagestudio.com ASAP. For your protection, your order will be cancelled and refunded so that you can reorder with the correct address.

Refund Policy

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. To start a return, you can contact us at hello@blackbirdsagestudio.com. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: 245 Casados St, Apt A, Santa Fe, NM, 87501. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. Return shipping labels incur a flat rate of $5. Damages and issues Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Exceptions / non-returnable items Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on custom made, custom commission, sale items or gift cards. Made-to-order items from standard listings are eligible for return. Custom commissions, specific stone requests, and special orders are non-returnable. Exchanges The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. If items from a promotional bundle are returned, the order may be recalculated without the promotional discount.   European Union 14 day cooling off period Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification.
