Description
A powerful, high-energy interpretation of Southwestern architectural majesty and raw high-desert light.
Executed within the definitive MINI style of Vibrant Lyrical Abstract Expressionism, this square foundation piece transforms a traditional multi-tiered pueblo scene into a rich landscape of sculptural texture. Built with a heavy ink–oil–pastel impasto, the composition features stacked adobe forms rendered in warm, sun-baked sandstone blocks and earthy ochres. Every structure is chiseled with bold palette-knife marks, leaving prominent ridges and tool marks that define the “Return of the Hand” philosophy.
Electric pops of Capri Blue and Transformative Turquoise animate the doors and windows, contrasting vividly against the architectural warmth. Rising sharply in the background, the majestic Sangre de Cristo mountains are sculpted with deep violets and cool whites under an expressive, churning sky. The result is a tactile, dimensional journey that completely rejects smooth digital sterility in favor of visible creative friction.
This digital original foundation features the artist’s full signature, “Roy Hastick,” subtly engraved directly into the thick paint texture in the bottom right corner.
