Description
Raw black tourmaline, dense and matte, arranged in a V and set in dark electroformed copper. The near-black of the stones and the near-black of the antique finish create a ring that reads as a single unified object, a chevron cut from darkness. Look closer and the texture of the tourmaline’s natural striated surface becomes visible, each stone slightly different from the next.
Black tourmaline is associated with grounding, protection, and clarity under pressure. It is connected to the root chakra. Wear it when you want something solid and direct.
Why Black Tourmaline
Black tourmaline, also called schorl, is the most common variety of the tourmaline mineral group. Its deep black color comes from high iron content. It is found worldwide, with notable deposits in Brazil, Africa, Pakistan, and the United States. The natural striated surface of raw tourmaline, caused by the mineral’s trigonal crystal structure, gives each stone a distinctive texture even at small sizes. No mystical claims. Just a striking stone that holds its ground.

How This Handmade Black Tourmaline Ring Is Made
Each stone is hand-selected for surface character and depth before being set into an electroformed copper band built up around it through an electrolytic process. No casting, no molds. The copper grows directly around each stone, creating a setting completely unique to each piece. The chevron shape is formed by hand, and the antique finish deepens the oxidation to bring out the electroformed texture.
A Note on Stone Variation
Black tourmaline is a natural stone and each piece will vary slightly in surface texture and the character of its striations. Occasional small rod ends may be visible. Your ring will be similar to the one shown but entirely one of a kind.
Care
Black tourmaline is a relatively durable stone, though raw rod ends can be vulnerable to hard impacts. Remove before swimming, bathing, or applying lotions and perfumes. Store dry. The antique copper finish will develop a natural patina over time.
