Description
Small stone, quiet presence. This dainty raw aquamarine ring holds a hand-selected chunk of pale blue aquamarine in an electroformed copper bezel, the rough natural edges of the stone left exactly as found. Delicate enough to stack, distinctive enough to wear alone. The 18g wire shank keeps it light on the finger. Made to order in my Santa Fe studio, each ring is built around a single stone chosen for its colour and character. No two are identical.
Aquamarine is associated with clarity, calm, and courage. March birthstone. Throat chakra. Wear it when you need to speak clearly or find stillness.
Why Aquamarine
Aquamarine is a variety of beryl, its pale blue to blue-green colour caused by trace amounts of iron in the crystal structure. The name comes from the Latin for seawater. Most aquamarine comes from Brazil, though significant deposits exist in Pakistan, Madagascar, and Nigeria. It is the March birthstone and has been used in jewelry for thousands of years, historically worn by sailors as a talisman for safe passage. No mystical claims. Just a beautiful stone with a meaning that fits real life.

How This Raw Aquamarine Ring Is Made
Each aquamarine is hand-selected before the electroforming process begins. The copper bezel is built up slowly around the stone in my Santa Fe studio, the metal depositing layer by layer in an electrolyte bath over many hours until the setting reaches its final form. The rough edges of the stone are left exposed, the copper wrapping organically around the natural shape. No two pieces are identical.
A Note on Stone Variation
Raw aquamarine varies in colour from pale icy blue to deeper blue-green, and in shape from triangular chunks to more rounded forms. The stone you receive will be unique. If you have a colour preference, note it at checkout and I will do my best to accommodate.
Care
Aquamarine is relatively durable (7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale) but avoid hard impacts on the raw edges. Remove before washing hands, swimming, or applying lotions. The copper will develop a living patina over time; polish with a soft cloth if you prefer brightness. Store dry. Copper may temporarily colour the skin green depending on body chemistry and pH — this is harmless and washes off easily. Apply a thin layer of clear nail polish to the inside of the band to create a barrier if needed.
