Description
The colorful and seemingly endless mesas in northern New Mexico have drawn artists for well over a hundred and fifty years.
“May your mountains rise into and above the clouds… down into a desert of red rock, blue mesas, domes and pinnacles and grottos of endless stone, and down again into a deep vast ancient unknown chasm…” – Edward Abbey
“The cliffs over there are almost painted for you – you think – until you try to paint them” – Georgia O’Keeffe
Throughout my life I have been inspired by the magnificent landscape of the west, especially those special places where the rock soars. Another in a series I have called Canyonlands, working to achieve a minimalist feel. A way to explore with watercolors on rough watercolor paper. 12″ x 16″ image size, 16″ x 20″ mat, ready to frame.
