Description
A crescent moon cradling a moonstone — this ring is for the ones who track the sky, trust their gut, and find meaning in cycles. The 4mm round moonstone cabochon sits in a bezel on one end of an open bypass band, the large flat electroformed copper crescent moon anchoring the other. Its blue adularescence shifts with the light the way the moon shifts with the season. Made to order in my Santa Fe studio, each piece is built slowly, the copper deposited layer by layer over many hours until the crescent takes its final form. For the moon lover, the intuitive, the person who needs a reminder that timing is everything.
Moonstone is associated with intuition, new beginnings, and emotional clarity. June birthstone. Crown and sacral chakra. Wear it when you need to trust the process.
Why Moonstone
Moonstone is a variety of feldspar mineral, its characteristic adularescence caused by light scattering between microscopic alternating layers of orthoclase and albite. The blue flash you see shifting across the stone’s surface is not a coating or treatment — it is the stone’s internal structure catching light. Most moonstone comes from Sri Lanka, India, and Madagascar. It is the June birthstone and has been used in jewelry for thousands of years. No mystical claims. Just a beautiful stone with a meaning that fits real life.

How This Crescent Moon Moonstone Ring Is Made
Each moonstone is hand-selected for flash quality before the electroforming process begins. The crescent moon form and bypass band are built up in my Santa Fe studio over many hours, copper depositing slowly onto the form until the piece reaches its final weight and texture. No two pieces are identical. This is not mass production — it is a slow, meditative craft.
A Note on Stone Variation
Moonstone adularescence varies from stone to stone. Some show a strong centered blue flash, others a softer diffused glow. The stone you receive will be unique. If you have a preference for flash intensity, note it at checkout and I will do my best to accommodate.
Care
Moonstone is relatively soft (6 on the Mohs scale) — avoid hard impacts and scratches. Store away from harder stones. Remove before washing hands, swimming, or applying lotions. The copper will develop a living patina over time; polish with a soft cloth if you prefer brightness. Store dry.
