OMEGA GOAT”, haven’t you ever wondered if animals know they are alive and someday pass away? It is hard for me to enter the mind of an animal, but I think they must know about their mortality. Perhaps not like a human, for as a friend who raises goats told me “they simply lay down when they pass away, they don’t stress over it or worry, and they have no doubts”. There is, it seems to me, an understanding all animals possess regarding their lives on this beautiful planet Earth, an understanding that calms the human mind and heart just to be near them. So in my Goat Icon I bring the idea of knowing their lives are finite to the forefront. How noble and magnificent are the Creatures Great and Small, it would be so illuminating to know what they know. Is there some hidden door that keeps our species separated? Or is it simply that we have not looked.
The Omega symbol above my goats head is the 24th letter of the Greek alphabet and stands for the end of something.
Goats are agile, fearless and sure-footed. They have faith they will not fall.
My Collage can be hung through decorative hole at top, or with a bit of ribbon or string on a simple nail. Large collage 11.5″x 6.75″ Small collage 6.25″x 4.5″
