Description
Black amber is not what most people picture when they think of amber, and that’s exactly what makes it worth wearing. This ring holds a piece of Grade A raw black amber from Indonesia, electroformed directly into copper so the stone sits in an organic setting that follows its natural shape. The stone ranges from deep black to dark cognac depending on how light hits it, with that characteristic resinous warmth that only fossilized amber carries. It’s a ring for someone who wants something genuinely unusual, grounded, and old in the best possible way.
Amber is associated with protection, warmth, clarity, and the transmutation of negative energy. Astrological signs: Leo and Aquarius. Wear it when you need to feel anchored.
Why Black Amber
Most amber is golden Baltic resin, millions of years old and well known. Indonesian black amber, sometimes called Sumatran amber or jet amber, is rarer and less familiar. It forms from the same fossilization process but produces a stone that ranges from deep opaque black to dark brown-black with occasional translucent cognac edges where light passes through. Grade A Indonesian black amber is selected for quality, density, and surface integrity. It is still genuine fossilized tree resin, still lightweight, still warm to the touch. No mystical claims. Just a genuinely rare material with a meaning that fits real life.

How This Handmade Amber Ring Is Made
Each ring begins with hand-selecting a piece of raw Indonesian black amber for quality and character. The stone is then electroformed in copper, a process where copper is slowly deposited around the stone through an electrical current, building up an organic setting that follows the stone’s natural edges. Rings are made to order and take approximately 4-5 business days to create. Not mass produced.
A Note on Stone Variation
Black amber is a natural fossilized resin. Each piece varies in opacity, surface texture, and the degree of cognac translucency at the edges. The ring you receive will be similar to the photos in style and quality, but the exact stone will be unique to your piece.
Care
Amber is organic and relatively soft. Avoid prolonged sunlight, which can make it brittle over time. Keep away from chemicals, perfumes, and lotions. Remove before swimming or bathing. For the copper: Bright Copper will darken naturally over time and can be brightened with a jewelry cloth. Antique Copper will lighten with wear, revealing a beautiful natural patina. Store dry, away from direct light.
