Description
Raw black tourmaline, dense and matte, arranged in a V and set in electroformed silver. The contrast between the deep matte black of the tourmaline and the bright silver is stark and intentional. The oxidized recesses between stone cups deepen the shadow and let each stone read as a distinct element in the arc. A ring with a strong graphic quality and real presence.
Black tourmaline is associated with grounding, protection, and clarity under pressure. It is connected to the root chakra. Wear it when you want something solid and direct.
Why Black Tourmaline
Black tourmaline, also called schorl, is the most common variety of the tourmaline mineral group. Its deep black color comes from high iron content. It is found worldwide, with notable deposits in Brazil, Africa, Pakistan, and the United States. The natural striated surface of raw tourmaline, caused by the mineral’s trigonal crystal structure, gives each stone a distinctive texture even at small sizes. No mystical claims. Just a striking stone that holds its ground.

How This Handmade Black Tourmaline Ring Is Made
Each stone is hand-selected for surface character and depth before the ring is built up around it through an electrolytic copper electroforming process. The copper grows directly around each stone, creating a setting completely unique to each piece. The chevron shape is formed by hand, then passed through the silver bath multiple times to build up a thick electroformed silver layer. The recessed areas are oxidized for contrast and depth.
A Note on Stone Variation
Black tourmaline is a natural stone and each piece will vary slightly in surface texture and the character of its striations. Occasional small rod ends may be visible. Your ring will be similar to the one shown but entirely one of a kind.
Care
Black tourmaline is a relatively durable stone, though raw rod ends can be vulnerable to hard impacts. Remove before swimming, bathing, or applying lotions and perfumes. Store dry. A light buff with a silver polishing cloth will restore the bright silver surfaces if desired.
