This raw black tourmaline copper cuff features genuine raw black tourmaline crystals with deep, striated surfaces fully encased in warm, textured electroformed copper with bronze wire-wrapped accents that anchor each stone with quiet, mixed-metal detail. The deep black of the tourmaline reads as grounded and steady against the warm copper. Bold without being loud. Substantial without being heavy. A piece that layers well and wears comfortably every day.

Black tourmaline is associated with grounding, steadiness, and calm protection. The October birthstone, worn for centuries as a quiet anchor during overstimulating or anxious moments.

Why Raw Black Tourmaline

Black tourmaline is a variety of the tourmaline mineral group, known mineralogically as schorl. It is a boron silicate mineral with a distinctive striated crystal structure that runs lengthwise along each stone. Its deep black color comes from high iron content within the crystal lattice. Found worldwide including Brazil, Africa, Pakistan, and the United States. Long associated with grounding, steadiness, and a sense of calm protection. Chosen for its deep black color, its raw unpolished form that shows natural striations and organic shape, and its solid, anchoring presence. No mystical claims. Just a striking stone with a grounded meaning that fits real life.

Raw Black Tourmaline Copper Cuff: Materials and Specifications

Gemstones: Natural raw black tourmaline crystals, unpolished, with natural striations, size variations, and organic shape. Each stone is unique. Fully encased in copper.
Accents: Bronze wire-wrapped details around each stone, adding warmth and mixed-metal contrast.
Metal: Electroformed copper with organic texture. Copper grows directly around each stone through an electrical process, forming a solid, one-of-a-kind structure.
Finish: Antique copper. Warm, aged patina with deeper tones that develop further with wear.
Band Width: Organic variation across the band, consistent with the electroforming process.
Clasp: No clasp. Open-form cuff with a slight gap for slip-on wear.
Origin: Handcrafted in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

How This Handmade Tourmaline Bracelet Is Made

Each raw black tourmaline copper cuff is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every tourmaline crystal for its natural striations and organic character, then encase it in copper using traditional electroforming techniques. Copper grows directly around each stone through an electrical process, one slow layer at a time. Bronze wire is carefully wrapped around each crystal, adding warmth and mixed-metal detail. The antique finish deepens the character from the start. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every handmade tourmaline bracelet from this studio is one of a kind.

Fit and Sizing

This cuff has a slight opening that allows for gentle adjustability. Due to the wide cuff form, measure around the widest part of your hand (knuckles) when making a fist to ensure the cuff will slide on comfortably.

To find your best fit, measure your wrist and add 0.5″ for a snug fit or 0.75″ for a relaxed, comfortable fit.

Available sizes:
XS: 5.75″ bracelet, fits approximately 5.0 to 5.25″ wrist
S: 6.5″ bracelet, fits approximately 5.75 to 6.0″ wrist
M: 7.25″ bracelet, fits approximately 6.5 to 6.75″ wrist
L: 8.0″ bracelet, fits approximately 7.25 to 7.5″ wrist

Avoid repeatedly bending the cuff open and closed. Electroformed copper is solid and structured, not flexible sheet metal. Slide the cuff on from the side over the soft spot above your wrist bone, then rotate gently into place.

Care

Remove before swimming, showering, heavy activity, or applying lotions. Store dry. Wipe gently with a soft cloth to maintain the antique finish. Avoid harsh polishing, which will remove the aged patina. Raw black tourmaline is relatively durable but treat each crystal gently and avoid impact. Do not repeatedly bend the cuff.

Every order arrives gift-ready with natural materials and a handwritten note card. Add your message in the order notes.

Shipping and Returns

Processing: 1 to 2 weeks, made to order.
Shipping: USPS First Class with tracking.
Returns: Accepted within 30 days, unworn, in original packaging. Buyer pays return shipping.

Shipping Policy

SHIPPING POLICY

Pieces at Blackbird & Sage Studio are handcrafted in Santa Fe, some are made to order. Below are some of the current processing times before the piece is ready to ship.
  • Ready Made items ship out in 1 - 3 business days - these include most necklaces, beaded bracelets, ready made and ready to ship rings, & key chains.
  • Made to Order items ship in about a week - these are most rings, & some earrings & necklaces.
  • Bracelets and detailed pieces are more labor intensive and require a longer production time - they generally ship out in 7 - 14 days but check the listing for specific processing and shipping dates.
  • Processing times are generally listed in each item description.
All orders will be shipped with an accompanying tracking number.   DOMESTIC (US) ORDERS
  • Free Shipping - Orders over $75 are sent USPS First Class Ground Advantage at no charge.
  • Shipping - Orders under $75 are charged by weight. Methods and rates vary and chosen by the customer at checkout.
  • Upgraded Shipping - Available at checkout. Rates are automatically calculated by the shipping carrier so you are never overcharged for shipping.
ORDERS & ADDRESSES All orders are shipped to the address that you provide. Please verify your address carefully during checkout. For those instances where a purchase has been made but the shipping address is incorrect, please send a message to hello@blackbirdsagestudio.com ASAP. For your protection, your order will be cancelled and refunded so that you can reorder with the correct address.

Refund Policy

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. To start a return, you can contact us at hello@blackbirdsagestudio.com. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: 245 Casados St, Apt A, Santa Fe, NM, 87501. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. Return shipping labels incur a flat rate of $5. You can always contact us for any return question at hello@blackbirdsagestudio.com.

Damages and issues Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Exceptions / non-returnable items Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on custom made, custom commission, sale items or gift cards. Made-to-order items from standard listings are eligible for return. Custom commissions, specific stone requests, and special orders are non-returnable. Exchanges The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. If items from a promotional bundle are returned, the order may be recalculated without the promotional discount.   European Union 14 day cooling off period Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. Refunds We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not.
