Description
This spirit pot is a collaboration between Santa Fe ceramic artist Angela Smith Kirkman who threw the form on a potter’s wheel and native artist Zelda Garcia of Acoma Pueblo who painted the design with a brush made from the yucca plant, the manner traditional in her ancestorial home. Her designs on this spirit pot symbolize the sun, the clouds, and mountains. Measures 4″ in height and 6″ in diameter.
Spirit pots are traditionally displayed on the dining room table. Before meals, each member of the family tears off a small piece of food from their plate and places it inside the spirit pot as an offering.
Designs on this vessel symbolize mountains, clouds, sun and rain.
